Action movies keep me trim: Vanessa Hudgens

London: ‘High School Musical’ star Vanessa Hudgens has said that working on her latest movie, ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ has been a brilliant cardio workout for her.

The 23-year-old actress, who was recently pictured with a tattoo on her foot reading, ‘All you need is love’, said the action adventure film kept her trim, Contactmusic reported.

“It’s good to keep your cardio up when you’re running around all day, but nothing too crazy.”

“You just show up to work and get put in these crazy scenarios and know you have a good stunt team behind you and you just kind of go for it,” she said.

‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ also stars Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson and tells the story of a boy trying to track down his grandfather on a mysterious island.

Vanessa laughs like mother

Vanessa Hudgens thinks she is “turning into” her mother.

The 23-year-old actress says her mom Gina is her biggest inspiration, and though she used to find her positivity annoying, it is a side of herself now that she likes to embrace.

She said: “My mom inspires me. She’s the most positive, bubbly person.

“When I was younger, I’d think, ‘Why is she giggling all the time? It’s so annoying.’ Now, I think it’s great.

“The older I get, the more I’m turning into her. You get back what you put into life, so you may as well be happy and get that back in return.

Vanessa – who is currently dating actor Austin Butler – also admitted she loves being alone and feels comfortable dining out or watching a movie without a companion.

She said: “I’ve loved being by myself since I was young. I love going to restaurants and to the movies by myself.”

The ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ actress loves leaving her phone at home so she can get some peace.

She told Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine:

“It’s too much to have your phone on all the time. There’s always someone trying to get hold of you.

“I love leaving my phone at home – but I need music everywhere I go so I bring little portable speakers.”

Vanessa, 23, spoke with HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY at the Feb. 2 premiere of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island at The Chinese Theater in Hollywood. She said she was SO happy to see her good friend Selena, 19, on the set of the movie!

“I adore Selena and I am just so excited to work with her on Spring Breakers,” Vanessa said. “We both have been so busy lately that working together on this film will give us time to catch up and just have fun. It will be more like fun than work.”

Vanessa admits that her foot tattoo is not real (with video)

Although her make fans were probably more captivated by her frolicking on the beach on a gorgeous orange bikini, some of her eagle eyed fans noticed that she a new inking on her foot.

But Vanessa Hudgens was forced to admit that the tattoo on the outside of her right foot is actually a fake.

The actress was appearing on the Jay Leno show last night, when he pulled out a magazine showing her on a recent holiday in Hawaii with boyfriend Austin Butler.

He pointed to a picture of her in an orange bikini and she and her beau walked along the beach together.

But what really grasped his attention was the tattoo on her foot which read, ‘all you need is love‘.

When he asked whether the inking hurt or not, she smiled coyly and confessed:

It’s fake. I have this mad obsession with drawing on myself, like, I cannot help it. I draw all over my hands, all over my arms, obviously my foot. It’s just fun. It’s hard to commit to a tattoo, like, I have a few, so, when you write on yourself it’s not that much of a commitment.

Vanessa, 23, was on the show to promote her new film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, a new 3D adventure in which she stars alongside Michael Caine, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock and Sex and the City star Kristen Davis.
