In Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth, Josh Hutcherson is back in the starring role as adventurer Sean Anderson, a young man on an exciting trip of epic proportions. The mission at hand? To find Sean’s grandfather Alexander (Michael Caine), a famed explorer who went missing during his journey for Mysterious Island, a place that may be linked to the lost city of Atlantis. To round out the crew of this quest, Sean and his stepfather (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) enlist the help of two tour guides (Luis Guzman and Vanessa Hudgens). After some hijinks and a crazy helicopter crash, the four arrive at Mysterious Island, a fairly utopian and Avatar-looking spot that is also full of dark jungles and terrifying creatures. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzman, and Kristin Davis.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens made her screen debut in the 2003 drama film Thirteen as Noel. She next starred in the 2004 science-fiction-adventure film Thunderbirds. Hudgens' most prominent role was as Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical series. She earned critical acclaim for her role as Sa5m in the 2009 film Bandslam. Hudgens' debut album V was released on September 26, 2006. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number twenty four, and was later certified Gold. Hudgens released her second album, Identified, on July 1, 2008 in the U.S. After HSM, Vanessa branched out and played as Lindy in Beastly and Blondie in Sucker Punch. V went back to her theater roots and played the role of Mimi in the theater show, Rent. Vanessa's upcoming movies are Journey 2: The Mysterious Island where she plays Kailani alongside Josh Hutcherson, Gimme Shelter as Apple alongside Brendan Fraser, Frozen Ground as Cindy alongside Nicolas Cage and John Cusack, Spring Breakers alongside Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts. Vanessa is also the new Candie's Girl.
