We love a new twist on a old classic, so when we heard Hollywood was making a modern day version of Beauty and the Beast, we were so excited! We got the chance to sit down with Beastly stars Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer to ask a few questions about the movie. Q: Alex, we heard your makeup took 5 hours everyday! Did that drive you crazy? A: I think I had this image in my mind that it was just one of those things that would take 30 seconds. Not the case, not the case. But I’m very proud of how it turned out. *Q: Vanessa, how was this role different from your* *High School Musical* character? A: I feel like with each project you do, you learn something new and practice makes perfect. I think the best acting class you’ll ever get is to actually be in front of the camera. It was a lot of fun, I got to play a new character I haven’t played before! Q: Vanessa, the movie was filmed in Montreal. What did you do in your free time on set? A: I love traveling and going to new places and I hadn’t been to Montreal before. We shot there during the summer, which was amazing because the weather was beautiful. I would rent bikes and ride down by the lake and go to jazz festivals. Q: Alex, in the movie you buy Vanessa’s character, Lindy, romantic gifts. What kind of gifts do you buy for your crushes? Vanessa Anne Hudgens made her screen debut in the 2003 drama film Thirteen as Noel. She next starred in the 2004 science-fiction-adventure film Thunderbirds. Hudgens' most prominent role was as Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical series. She earned critical acclaim for her role as Sa5m in the 2009 film Bandslam. Hudgens' debut album V was released on September 26, 2006. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number twenty four, and was later certified Gold. Hudgens released her second album, Identified, on July 1, 2008 in the U.S. After HSM, Vanessa branched out and played as Lindy in Beastly and Blondie in Sucker Punch. V went back to her theater roots and played the role of Mimi in the theater show, Rent. Vanessa's upcoming movies are Journey 2: The Mysterious Island where she plays Kailani alongside Josh Hutcherson, Gimme Shelter as Apple alongside Brendan Fraser, Frozen Ground as Cindy alongside Nicolas Cage and John Cusack, Spring Breakers alongside Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts. Vanessa is also the new Candie's Girl.

Why do you love Vanessa Hudgens?

She is my role model. HSM were like my only childhood memory. I was never hooked by Harry Potter, Lord of Rings, Star Wars, Teletubbies (?) ... I knew they existed but looked interesting to me. I don't even know that Teletubbies(?) existed until now that I am 16! I'll be honest. I'm more hooked with Zanessa than Vanessa alone. Even though they broke up I am still rooting for them. I am addicted to those two! Have you seen them look at each other? I sound hysterical. :p But really, it was the day that I believed that true love is still alive. They’re like my priority. Stalkerish? I don’t know. HAHAHA!
